What Refills Your Energy Tank?

I was thinking of all the things in my life that need "recharging". My phone, laptop, watch (yep it's one of those). I need to pull my car into the gas station at least once a week to get refueled. Our fridge empties and needs to be refilled.

Every night we "recharge" our bodies with sleep. We can't operate without that.

Now that summer is here, I wonder if you are going to allow yourself some intentional, and extended, recharging times. It's not selfish, it's self-care.

It starts with knowing what type of activities replenish you.

Last night my wife and I took Starbucks down to our favorite beach, with two lawn chairs, and sat by the lake while the sunset. Yep, that fills my tank.

We have some holidays planned in July and August. Time away can be recharging, as long as you don't pack it too full of activities (that's a message to myself!)

Being around people who help recharge you, not drain you, is also important. Do you know who they are?

A walk, a bike ride, a book or magazine, a night at the movies, a picnic in the park.

These are not "nice to haves", these are "need to haves". We must make time in our schedules to recharge so that we have something to give out.

Let me know one or two things that fills your tank below, and hopefully you are planning time to do those things this summer. It'll make truly you better in every environment you find yourself in.

Cheering you on!
